Bishop Moses Banja has announced creation of two new Archdeaconries namely Namugongo and Kavumba.
The Bishop made these pronouncements during the Diocesan Council meeting held at Namirembe 's Synod Hall on Thursday July 7, 2024. He also revealed the dates for commencement of those Archdeaconries. He said that Namugongo Archdeaconry will start on Sunday October 6, 2024.
Rev. Canon Michael Wasswa was appointed to be the first Archdeacon of Namugongo and will be installed on that day.
Kavumba Archdeaconry will start on Sunday November 17, 2024. He did not name the Archdeacon but said the name will be announced in the Diocesan Council that will sit on Friday 25th October 2024.
The newly created parishes will commence on 21st January 2025.
